Ice Technician Training Pathway

Canada’s Ice Technicians are among the best in the world. Curling Canada and Member Associations are committed to providing ongoing training and support so that curling facilities have access to personnel who can create great ice surfaces for curling facilities in Canada.
Curling Canada’s Ice Technician Training and Certification Pathway consists of two streams. The Curling Centre Stream is intended for individuals who are installing and maintaining ice within a dedicated curling facility for league and bonspiel play. The Competition Ice Stream is intended for individuals installing ice in an arena (non-dedicated curling facility) over an existing ice surface for a short-term competitive event.
Member Associations are delivery agents for the Curling Centre stream education programs. The program has been recently updated (2022). Curling Canada is the delivery agent of the Competition Stream education programs.
