The Vancouver Curling Club (VCC), located in the Hillcrest Centre recreational complex, offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join an innovative team dedicated to operating a world-class curling facility.
The VCC is a nonprofit association committed to the development of its more than 1,100 members and thousands of annual visitors/guests through the provision of high quality on-ice and off-ice experiences and learning opportunities. The combined efforts and dedication of staff, volunteers and elected Board members result in a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a state-of-the-art facility, a legacy of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The VCC is currently seeking a full-time Membership Services Coordinator to start immediately for an annual term: August to mid-May.
As the Membership Services Coordinator (MSC) your role is central in creating a positive atmosphere for members, prospective members and the community. Your responsibilities encompass membership interactions focusing on league play, bonspiels, Junior Development and High School programming, in addition to volunteer coordination and the business operations of the Pro Shop.
Communications include responding to member’s inquiries, overseeing monthly newsletters and updating the VCC website and social media. As the Membership Services Coordinator you will be available to work flexible hours, daytime and evenings.
As the ideal candidate you will possess a University degree or college diploma, preferably with emphasis on office administration or project management. You will have an understanding of curling experience/knowledge. Professional experience with retail, membership based organizations and possession of a ‘Serving It Right’ license is an asset, but not required. You will have a minimum of five years office experience and a proven level of professionalism, attention to detail, multi-tasking and problem solving capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adjust to the changing needs of the organization.
This is a 4-5 day per week position, compensation to be determined based on experience.
