qualifications:
– Level 2 Ice Technician Certification preferred
– Ability to work with minimum direction
– Working knowledge of ice plant control systems
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Good planning and organizational skill
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
– Ice installation, ice painting, ring and signage installation and removable hack installation
– Ensure that all ice making equipment is operated efficiently, safely and effectively for the entire curling season
– Assist in the long term planning for capital investment in the Ice Plant
– Establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with the Board of Directors, Ice Committee and the overall membership
– The day-to-day ice operations ensuring high quality playing conditions
– Schedule and implement maintenance floods, practice times and draw changes when required
– Daily equipment maintenance and log keeping
– Assist in the training and scheduling of assistant ice staff
– Minor facilities maintenance and repair as needed both on and off the ice
– Spring removal of ice and proper storage of rocks, signage and equipment
